It looks crazy complex lots, of numbers but we can ignore most of it. First, adjust the graphing monitor to show 30 minutes of data. Stress-test your CPU at its baseline without any adjustments just to see what numbers you will get. During the stress test, the CPU is running pretty much full tilt with occasional dips and the temperatures are going up and down as the fans turn on and off. Now the way to undervolt properly is to drop the voltage, stress test and if it checks out drop the voltage again and repeat.

Additionally, this guide is designed for Intel systems running Windows only. In order to do this, simply click on the wrench on the top right corner of the system monitoring section to open the System Monitor configuration.

From here, scroll down to core voltage and check the box to enable core voltage monitoring. Go ahead and close the System Monitor configuration box. Use this as the baseline voltage of your system without any undervolting. Is this too hot? Specifically the 98 deg peaks? I tried disabling Turboboost, which peaksthe CPU temp at 77 deg and average at 72 deg. Is this my only route to lower the temps?

Between disabling Turboboost and Undervolting, is one better than the other? Also, how do you know if the laptop is thermal throttling?

If you are still seeing high temps, you might consider a cooling pad similar to the one below to place under your laptop while gaming. It should bring temperatures down. Other options would be to repaste and to check on CPU tasks and see if you have something eating away at it.

It's important that you get the temperatures under control.

I undervolted to -0, and had the thermal paste re-done and now I barely go over 60C. Never tried disabling turboboost. So if you do, let me know about the results :D 3.
